I can weave small, medium, and large blankets from sheep wool.

I can do herringbone stitch.

They are hand woven on a loom.

Genuine Cowichan Vests

Vests can be pull over, or with a zipper. Measure as if you were going to order a sweater.
Designs are similar to the Sweater designs.

Genuine Cowichan Hand Bags

Hand bags can be in geometric designs, or small animal or bird prints. They have a string tie and a shoulder strap.

Made from local sheep wool.

Genuine Cowichan Mittens

Mittens are warm for the winter cold weather! They come in geometric designs, such as stripes. They can be made in different colours of wool.

Genuine Cowichan Sock Slippers

Sock Slippers can be made for women, men and children. I can also make baby booties.

Genuine Cowichan Scarves

Scarves can be any design, geometric, bird, or small animal. They have fringes at both ends.

Genuine Cowichan Knits - Toques

The toques are small, medium, or large. They can have a pom pom on the top if requested.

The designs can be plain, or with a geometric design. If an animal is small enough it can be placed on a toque.

Designs include the Frog and Bear.

Sweater Measurments - How To

Feeling a bit unsure on how to  measure yourself for your order? The following will guide you.

When e-mailing, please be sure to include your weight and height.

Length of the Sweater (include the dip near the middle of your back):

 

Shoulder Width (From Shoulder to Shoulder):

 

Length of Arm: With your arm in a resting position, measure from the top of your shoulder, to the desired length, ie. just past your wrist.

Genuine Cowichan Sweaters

I knit Genuine Cowichan Sweaters. I have several desigsns for sweaters including:

• Eagles
• Thunderbirds
• Salmon
• Deer
• Bear
• Geometric Patters (ie. snowflake)
• and several others!

Cowichan Sweaters can be with a zipper or pull over.
If you would like to order a sweater I require the following measurements:

Length of the Sweater

Shoulder Width (From Shoulder to Shoulder)

Length of Arm (From under your arm pit to the length you want your sleeve)

Chest

Weight (in pounds)

Height (ie. 5'9")

Dora Wilson - Biography

I have been knitting since I was sixteen years old, that's 54 years of knitting! I was taught by my late Mother. This skill is passed on from generation to generation.

I knit Cowichan Sweaters, and Vests, knit to order. I can also knit scarves, mittens, toques, bags, sock slippers.

I use natural sheeps wool for all of my creations. The wool is gathered from local farmers on Vancouver Island.

I also weave Coast Salish blankets from sheeps wool.
